Qualitative and Quantitative

Analysis can be neatly divided into qualitative and quantitative. Whilst one should definitely not ignore the former, we kind of like numbers here at Cooke Curtis & Co. Without question they tell a story. Once forged in truth and detail.

Analysis can be neatly divided into qualitative and quantitative. Whilst one should definitely not ignore the former, we kind of like numbers here at Cooke Curtis & Co. Without question they tell a story. Once forged in truth and detail. We have a number of interesting numbers for you. Maybe not perfect numbers (also known as Armstrong numbers, or Friedman numbers he said pretending he had not simply Googled).

Let's start with Rightmove’s analysis of 2024. This analysis placed Cooke Curtis & Co at the top of the heap of Cambridge Estate Agents (there must be a more positive collective noun for a group of estate agents....another article to follow) selling more properties than any other single office in Cambridge (and actually most with multiple local offices), coming in with 6.8% market share. Admittedly the second placed agent was a hair's breadth away but they have been around for 200 years or so, which makes us happier as relative new kids on the block – great progress in just 10 years we'd say.

Some other interesting numbers include that our properties receive 19% more detailed views than the other agents collectively, which means we get more eyes on the prize, or your property. The more eyes the bigger the prize (amount we sell your property for!). And 100% of our properties have at least five photos and have floor plans which is extraordinary rather than the norm.

Then through Data kings TwentyEA, that reveals we achieve 98% of our original asking price for our clients and that’s close, we agreed sales 5 days faster than than the area average. So we don't just sell for more, we sell quicker. the best of both worlds! And on our home turf Trumpington, the general CB2 area we secure some outstanding results for our clients, with 99% of the asking price achieved, selling 8 days faster and have a 73% listing to sale ratio where the area delivers 69% and we are ranked Number 1 by some way. Less unexpected but no less gratifying.

Why are these important to you if you are considering selling or letting your property? We would hope these provide you with additional comfort, knowing not only are we award winning, trusted but our track record in getting the best result for you is unparalleled. We get the best numbers, which whilst we appreciate isn't the only metric to consider, is certainly reassuring for our clients.

If you are looking to sell or let a property please get in touch, we would love to help you. And for fear of this all sounding rather Orwellian you aren't just a number to us!

Does the idea of waking up on Christmas Day surrounded by cardboard boxes, desperately rummaging for a spoon to stir your gravy, appeal to you? No? We thought not

There Is a huge gap between how different agents treat their clients. Fundamentally it is about what you focus on. Crudely speaking it is the difference between being client focused and being focused on sales targets and commission.

A recent report from TSB has found that 80% of first-time buyers are moving back in with their parents to save for a deposit. Yes a staggering 80%. Perhaps if you have grown up children you may want to keep this under your hat?
