Cooke Curtis & Co - Swim the Channel Challenge

We’re Swimming the Channel (in a Pool!) - And We Need Your Support. After years of thinking about it, we’re deflating our water wings and finally taking the plunge - literally.

We’re Swimming the Channel (in a Pool!) - And We Need Your Support. After years of thinking about it, we’re deflating our water wings and finally taking the plunge - literally.

The team at Cooke Curtis & Co is proud to be launching our “Swim the Channel Challenge” in support of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, a charity very close to heart, which provides vital care and end-of-life support for people across our community facing life-limiting illnesses. Thanks to the brilliant team at David Lloyd Gyms, who are hosting the event and generously offering access to their pool and coaching support, our challenge is now officially underway.

The goal? Swim the length of the English Channel - 1,360 lengths of a 25m pool in one morning, as a team.

We’ll be swimming in October, but the training starts now. Some of us haven’t swum more than a few lengths in years, but we’re all committed to doing our bit — whether that’s 5, 50, or 100 lengths. Every single length counts. Our fundraising target is £5,000, and with your help, we know we can reach (or beat!) it.

How you can help: Sponsor us! Every donation makes a difference and goes directly to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. Share our story on social media to help us spread the word.

This is more than a fitness challenge. It’s about pushing ourselves, supporting a cause that means a great deal to us, and showing what a small local business can do when it comes together with its community. We’ll be posting regular updates on our training and fundraising progress, so keep an eye on our social media.

A recent report from TSB has found that 80% of first-time buyers are moving back in with their parents to save for a deposit. Yes a staggering 80%. Perhaps if you have grown up children you may want to keep this under your hat?

Does the idea of waking up on Christmas Day surrounded by cardboard boxes, desperately rummaging for a spoon to stir your gravy, appeal to you? No? We thought not

There Is a huge gap between how different agents treat their clients. Fundamentally it is about what you focus on. Crudely speaking it is the difference between being client focused and being focused on sales targets and commission.

Analysis can be neatly divided into qualitative and quantitative. Whilst one should definitely not ignore the former, we kind of like numbers here at Cooke Curtis & Co. Without question they tell a story. Once forged in truth and detail.
